    What you'll be working on:

    This opportunity is for candidates with prior experience in Czech accounting and tax. You will work alongside the CFO and Financial Controller to build modern accounting & tax operations at Apify.

    Strategic expectations:

    • Drive bookkeeping and accounting standards in cooperation with the external accounting firm, audit firm
    • Manage corporate income tax and overall tax compliance (Czech entity [+ 1 foreign entity])
    • Become the point of contact for accounting and tax-related matters (corporate income tax, VAT, global tax compliance)

    Key responsibilities:

    • Help with monthly financial closings (bookkeeping/accounting)
    • Leverage technology to automate AP and monthly closings
    • Corporate income taxes, VAT
    • Local & global tax compliance

    Day-to-day agenda:

    • Perform basic bookkeeping and accounting operations; use automation tools to reduce routine tasks
    • Drive and help with monthly reconciliation efforts
    • Coordinate with key stakeholders: internal financial controlling team, external accounting service, audit firm, external tax advisors
    • Reconcile books against management reporting, ensure data consistency
    • Monitor global tax compliance and register for tax payment in new tax territories
    • Oversee local and global tax returns
    • Forecast tax liabilities: corporate income tax, VAT/Sales tax

    They say there are no perfect candidates, but you might be the one if:

    • You have at least 2 years of experience in Czech tax and accounting
    • You have experience in automation and digitalization in accounting
    • You have solid proficiency in corporate income tax and VAT
    • You are a thinker and a doer in 1 person
    • You are comfortable communicating with clients and external partners
    • You have advanced proficiency in Czech/Slovak and English

    By the end of the first 3 months, we expect you to:

    • Have a full understanding of our accounting standards (chart of accounts, workflows, tools)
    • Own the bookkeeping and accounting agenda within accounts payable
    • Have identified 5 measurable improvements in accounting operations and tax compliance

    By the end of the first 6 months, we expect you to:

    • Be responsible for end-to-end accounting operations and tax compliance
    • Master our accounting software and automation/digitalization tools
    • Have implemented 5 improvements in accounting operations and tax compliance
    • Have an annual masterplan for accounting and tax agenda
